Student Midwife

What we offer

    • CPR, NRP, HIPPA, and OSHA.

    • Texas midwife licensure costs (upon signing midwife contract post graduation)

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma (or equivalent)
  • 18 years old
  • Valid drivers license and your own transportation
  • Working phone
  • Reliable childcare (24/7) if applicable
  • Spinning Babies workshop (completed or be signed up for a workshop)
  • Anatomy & Physiology (preferred but may be taken later)
  • Student midwife, doula, or other birth work experience (preferred)

Job Overview

  • Ability to attend prenatal days and unscheduled births at all hours
  • Prioritizing relationships and peace within the birth center
  • Completing academics while attending assigned clinicals and births under the guidance of Heartbeat preceptors.

  • CPR
  • NRP
  • Preceptor Status with NARM (required when eligible)

  • Lead prenatal days and provide quality client care throughout pregnancy, labor & delivery, birth, and postpartum
  • Take scheduled on-call rotation and phone responsibilities
