Student Midwife
What we offer

- Preceptorship and guidance with education through PEP (usually takes about 3 years)
- Heartbeat will pay for the following professional education:
- CPR, NRP, HIPPA, and OSHA.
- Certified Lactation Specialist (around 6-12 months)
- Breech Workshop (2nd year)
- Texas midwife licensure costs (upon signing midwife contract post graduation)
- Access to all labs and supplements at cost.
Requirements
- Highschool diploma (or equivalent)
- 18 years old
- Valid drivers license and your own transportation
- Working phone
- Reliable childcare (24/7) if applicable
- Spinning Babies workshop (completed or be signed up for a workshop)
- Anatomy & Physiology (preferred but may be taken later)
- Student midwife, doula, or other birth work experience (preferred)
Job Overview
- Excellent teamwork and people skills
- Ability to attend prenatal days and unscheduled births at all hours
- Prioritizing relationships and peace within the birth center
- Completing academics while attending assigned clinicals and births under the guidance of Heartbeat preceptors.
Midwife
